I am experienced in taking the entire website design process from wire framing and initial concept, to designing the visual frontend of the website, to working with a trusted developer to produce custom-built websites with advanced functionality.
I take into account the user experience and their journey whilst using your site, from site architecture and internal navigation through to key message positioning and calls-to-action. I use programs such as Adobe XD and Photoshop to visualise the user journey, and my design process includes all the components you need for responsive layout, providing a seamless experience across desktop and mobile devices.
I was brought into Sodexo as a dedicated resource in the O2 team to help improve the bebrilliant! website. The site resides on an outdated version of Umbraco, which makes mobile optimisation and improvements a challenge.
I started by creating new CSS style sheets to make the website mobile responsive, recommended server improvements and used an SEO crawler to identify large images. I optimised these images, resulting in a 74.3% size reduction and saving an average of 40% in page load speed.
I then identified convoluted internal processes that could be streamlined to improve efficiency of the team.
I started by ideating, designing and leading on the development of a new custom-built standalone system outside of Umbraco that allows non-developers in the team to build mobile responsive pages for campaigns.
I then ideated and led on the development of an add-on to the page builder in the way of a form builder. The process went from a third-party form where data processing and filtering was a time-consuming manual process, to self-hosted forms that automate all data processing, saving the team approximately five days a month.
I was commissioned to redesign a website for desktop and mobile for customer experience agency, Oomph.
The homepage design included hover animations, sliding actions and transitions, while a custom takeover menu included additional hover actions and animated transitions.
I also designed page concepts for three key landing pages, as well as a component-based page template design, which was modular and expandable so that the team were able to use various elements interchangeably for fully customisable landing pages.
Whilst supporting the Argos Digital Design department with digital design services, I also identified an opportunity to streamline some of their processes.
Assets received from advertising clients were often provided in the wrong size, format and of insufficient quality for online use.
I ideated and led the development of a portal through which assets could be submitted. The system automatically checked the dimensions and resolution of assets, and ensured that files were layered and editable for members of the internal team before receipt.
